On Friday, 21 September 2018, 10.00 a.m., an information event for the employees took place.
Representatives of the responsible Bankruptcy Office (Bern-Mittelland) informed the employees about the effects of bankruptcy on their employment contracts, the filing of their claims in bankruptcy and about insolvency and unemployment compensation, and answered questions from those affected. Subsequently, the employees were able to receive the necessary forms and register their claims under labour law. Furthermore, they were able to take the necessary steps to claim insolvency and unemployment benefits from the representatives of the Department of Economic Affairs of the Canton of Berne (Regional Employment Agency) as well as the Unemployment Insurance Unia, who were both present at the event.
A notable number of employees have participated in the information event and have already been able to complete the formalities connected with the assertion of their claims on site. Due to the joint coordination of all offices involved, the administrative effort for all those involved could be considerably reduced.
